On April 28th, Caryn will be participating in Gateway Conversations – a three day series of events that look at art as a tool for diplomacy. Caryn will be moderating a panel entitled“Form Follow Culture: The Cultural Language of Design.”
Caryn will present a paper, “Collaboration: Propelling An Expanded Practice” at the ACSA Annual Meeting in Detroit for David Goodman’s session “Design of Practice.”

Caryn and Joseph Krupczynski receive a Citation Award for “Arrivals” Public Art + Infrastructure project from the Western Massachusetts AIA as part of the 2016 Design Awards program.
Caryn, colleague Joseph Krupczynski, the Center for Design Engagement (C*DE), and the City of Holyoke are recipients of an NEA Our Town Award to support Holyoke’s I-391 Underpass Project.
Caryn receives a 2016 AIA / ACSA Practice + Leadership Award. The award recognizes best practices of highly effective teaching, scholarship, and outreach in the areas of professional practice and leadership. Caryn and colleague Joseph Krupczynski host two panels titled “Divergent Modes of Engagement: Exploring Collaborative + Participatory Practices” at the 104nd Annual ACSA Meeting in Seattle, WA.
